Can you drive through town? Up steep hills? Park anywhere your trailer fits?
Practice if you can’t! And one of the best ways is to do your errands with your trailer.
Tonight I picked up the trailer and truck after a minor repair. Picked up grain (in the trailer). Went to my bank up the steep hill in Collegetown where I parallel parked in the standing zone that’s etched out of the sidewalk just the perfect size for my rig. Then parked it at the grocery store and picked up some things I needed before heading home.
Practicing with an unloaded trailer is liberating. If you only ever drive with your horses you never can do the same level of trial and error that you feel free to do with an empty rig.
